@reghelwer @Xplornet Well, technology costs money. Poverty is a problem that’s getting worse. Our rates are pretty high compared to the rest of the world. Lots of Manitobans haven’t had a raise in four years because of your government austerity agenda. Jobs are fewer in rural Mb because of Gov’t cuts

@MBGovNews @MBGov This is the worst news. Xplornet is the most unreliable company there is. Advertising high speed and delivering 1mbps. They did offer a 25% discount though 😒

@BenKlass @EvanGetson Don't tell me. If government money was to go anywhere, they should give it to Starlink. Xplornet has already demonstrated its inability to provide a decent service, but even worse-- I've heard horror stories about their abysmal customer service.

@jcalder1983 Holy **** are they idiots , did they not consult anyone about any of this ? Yeah we want improved service but Xplornet is already maxed out without an expansion.

@bkives What if we are currently underserved by Xplornet? All comes down to competition: if there is none, rural will continue to pay exorbitant amounts for ****** internet.

@bkives Just canceled my Xplornet, replaced with StarLink, 800 times better and it’s kind of cool that I’m supporting a future mission to Mars. Cost was only slightly higher, but the results are well worth it ! I think the Premier is again investing in a poor solution. He should compare.

@MBGovNews Xplornet can’t provide service to the subscribers they’ve already got, how are they going to manage this? Note to @MBGov — the lowest bid isn’t always the best bid.

@jordanrynard @kijekijikokwe @Xplornet I've never needed a static ip to open a VPN connection. Nor am I aware of needing ipv6. Not so many years ago, I couldn't use VPN on Rogers to connect to work. VPN would report a successful connection, but I couldn't access anything. 1/2

@jordanrynard @kijekijikokwe @Xplornet After multiple calls, I was finally told Rogers didn't support VPN connections over security about the type of traffic. They monitor and throttle torrents for example and don't want customers hiding traffic via VPN. After a week with Rogers I left. 2/2
