@cogeco Cogeco management needs to issue an explanation of the source of these outages. Changing DNS seems to be a solution but most people cannot or are uncomfortable doing it. If changing DNS is a solution then why doesn't Cogeco have this as a back up suggestion or action.1/2

@cogeco This has been going on for days now! You really should give your customers a credit for this terrible service since many of us are taking online courses and working from home.

@ppreville @Ptbo_Canada @cogeco I have Cogeco as well, was perplexed when my google wifi was working and wired was not. Google wifi uses Google's DNS. Seems like they are using a bad DNS server. If you are on windows try opening command prompt and typing ipconfig/flushdns.

@cogeco Since Cogeco probably doesn’t want you doing so, for those that know how, this issue can be resolved by changing your DNS server on your modem/router settings. Google’s DNS server is 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

@610CKTB Cogeco is the worst internet supplier I’ve ever had. We also have numerous short outages on the regular our here in Niagara region. They’re also quite expensive, definitely not worth what we’re paying.

@HaltonDSB @ONgov If you are having issues with Cogeco (DNS issue) today and earlier this week, a work around is to change the DNS server and backup on your home router to Google's DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
