@cogeco This doesn't seem to be a 'localized' outage... Can you provide insight as to where/what the issue(s) is?

  • RandomSusla Random 🇨🇦 (@RandomSusla) reported

@BBFarhadi @DrKateTO Cogeco went out in a large area about 9:30 ish. My kids turn off their ‘cell’ when home so they struggled to reboot the router and their devices until we got a call. H was able to access outages map through other service. Had chem test today. Chaos.

Cogeco internet is down, so all 4 kids can't log in. Partner at work from 8-4, I'm at work 12-5... going to be an interesting day.

@aschwabdotca @cogecohelps @cogeco We have switched our DNS settings from automatic to using manual. Googles dns server is 8.8.8.8. And 8.8.4.4. You can google it for verification. This will allow access to internet again. Can reset back to automatic once Cogeco fixes issue with their DNS server. Hope this helps.

@CassanoraL Exact same situation. According to Cogeco, it may have been that we had " just enough of a signal'....per the tec dept.

@cogeco is the problem caused by all the children in Ontario on-line for school?

  • r_quinla Dr Roberto Quinlan (@r_quinla) reported

@LizLoveLake It's a weird day. We have no problems at home because we have Teksavvy, and yet it runs on Cogeco infrastructure. Some other tweets have mentioned this but state tech stuff that is beyond me. You gonna have to burn through your cell phone's monthly data by hotspotting it?

  • JenFraser55 Jennifer Fraser (@JenFraser55) reported

@jdeq Sadly it’s not just cogeco. Rural internet has been awful - it’s not able to handle the capacity required to have synchronous learning. Then factor in having 2 young kids who need computer assistance to even work the computer and then it cuts out - it’s been a nightmare here.
