Also if I’m not mistaken the profits from SGI Canada subsidize their provincial rates. I lived in Sask for five years and really enjoyed the service from both Sasktel and SGI.

Local news? Do newspapers? (it bugs me that OS didn’t prove their case by getting on Cogeco, SaskTel, Videotron etc. Would’ve been faster)

They are immune to shareholder pressure for unchecked profit. They are here to provide an essential service. The "free market" wouldn't stand a chance.

SK Jo (@invigilator4) reported@fanCRTCProfling Some of that will be remote locations. Land costs should actually be lower than average because the towers are going up on cheap or free land. (ie. White Fox tower went up on Sasktel's lot it already owned for the service shed) So that makes it even more suspect.

Trevor Miller (@swooper74) reported@EvanLSolomon Sinking billions of our tax dollars into fueling this bubble just before it pops is grossly irresponsible when you could use that money to create a national public telecom like SaskTel to give Canadians better service and pricing than what the big 3 offer.
