Megan (@sohotitsart) reported from Calgary, Alberta@hallsy_30 @SaskTel Infuriating internet moguls! SHAW first told me my crap speed was my devices. 2nd guy agreed it definitely wasn’t. Tech who came to my house said I could have the privilege of paying an extra 10$ a month for pods to get the speed I should have had all along I’ve paying been for.

I politely complained at one point & they did give me 2 months free but my service is still spotty as a teenager. Oh well, it’s a pretty first world problem so I’m trying to be accepting. C C (@camcol32) reported@LaserAud @C_Classiques What is going to be the state of your network in 10 years without federal government billions...because it will happen...the federal government needs to cut everywhere. How many billions did the fédéral government spent on fiber? For Canada, likely in the 100 billion range the last 5 years. This is not going to happen again. Starlink is already a player...nearly 12 millions subscribers...from 6 last year... and projections is 200 millions by 2036...I say more in the billion range. What happens when it's cheaper to have a satellite antenna then fiber...it's already that in Montréal. I would have subscribed to it if it wasn't for the heavy tree cover over my house... this will be resolved with more satellites...they are launching them every couple of days. The v3 satellite is 100 times more powerful than v2mini...they have 10,000 v2 in orbit and project to have 1,000,000 v3 by 2036...if starship works of course...which it will. How does sasktel pay for the upgrades and repairs to their costly network? For that matter how does Bell and the other player do it? The answer is that they can't. I get it that you are a big fan of sasktel and you think that they will be able to compete...they will for a.time but not on the long term...none of the networks are. Good luck!

Brian Doane (@bgdoane) reported@SaskTel Well, I appreciate your reply. I know it's only lip service. I've been talking to Sasktel about this for years. Our complaints simply aren't going to cause you to build more towers or upgrade current ones. That's the only fix for this.

SaskTel Support (@SaskTelSupport) reportedOn March 18, crews will be completing scheduled maintenance on the satellite network that supports SaskTel Landline Phone services (Home Phone and Business Phone) in Uranium City. As a result of this work, SaskTel Landline services will be unavailable for approximately eight hours in and around the community. While crews will work to complete the maintenance as quickly as possible, the exact timing of the service interruption and restoration cannot be confirmed in advance.

Borders are difficult to cover as SaskTel faces all towers inward and cannot have our cell footprint spill across the border which can cause fringe zones where boosters may be needed for less than ideal coverage
