C C (@camcol32) reported@LaserAud @C_Classiques What is going to be the state of your network in 10 years without federal government billions...because it will happen...the federal government needs to cut everywhere. How many billions did the fΓ©dΓ©ral government spent on fiber? For Canada, likely in the 100 billion range the last 5 years. This is not going to happen again. Starlink is already a player...nearly 12 millions subscribers...from 6 last year... and projections is 200 millions by 2036...I say more in the billion range. What happens when it's cheaper to have a satellite antenna then fiber...it's already that in MontrΓ©al. I would have subscribed to it if it wasn't for the heavy tree cover over my house... this will be resolved with more satellites...they are launching them every couple of days. The v3 satellite is 100 times more powerful than v2mini...they have 10,000 v2 in orbit and project to have 1,000,000 v3 by 2036...if starship works of course...which it will. How does sasktel pay for the upgrades and repairs to their costly network? For that matter how does Bell and the other player do it? The answer is that they can't. I get it that you are a big fan of sasktel and you think that they will be able to compete...they will for a.time but not on the long term...none of the networks are. Good luck!

Paplinski (@tpaplinski) reported@cselley There does exist in several iterations, what he describes. Co-op is an example, higher per item price with an equitable profit share There is Sasktel as a government owned service provider. Less customer service, higher prices, zero profit motivation.
-
Colin Stewart (@cstewartyqr) reported@tammyrobert Wait, what? SaskTel should be in SERIOUS trouble over this. I remember back in 2019 dealing with SaskTel because my sister was paying my cellphone bill. I wanted her to be able to have access to my account, so I asked SaskTel how to go about it. (1/2)
-
Trevor Miller (@swooper74) reported@nationalpost @financialpost Sinking billions of our tax dollars into a bubble just before it bursts isn't what Canadians want, take that money and create a public telecom like SaskTel to give Canadians a better option than the high priced garbage we get from the big 3.
-
RCMP Saskatchewan (@RCMPSK) reportedSaskTel is aware of the issue and are working on a solution. Once service has been restored, we can provide an update. We do not have an estimated time for restoration of full phone service. 2/2
-
Douglas Tompson (@DTSaskatoon) reported@carytarasoffyxe @LaraFominoff Lies, dam lies and statistics. When someone set fire to a mattress in the alley and burned down a power pole, the SaskTel Repair Team explained that it was arson. I contacted the police to offer my CCTV footage with the start time, I was told it was a wiring fault. Hilarious!
-
SK Jo (@invigilator4) reported@fanCRTCProfling Some of that will be remote locations. Land costs should actually be lower than average because the towers are going up on cheap or free land. (ie. White Fox tower went up on Sasktel's lot it already owned for the service shed) So that makes it even more suspect.
-
Mona (@Mona_1210) reported@SaskTelSupport How about in the Warman area? My internet is slow and sometimes no connection since this morning. Update, please I'm calling SaskTel customer service I'm on hold

βπππππ π¦ΈββοΈ πππ₯π₯ππ (@HiddenKitteh) reportedWill the Sasktel saga never end? 2 months now, no home internet. Neighbour has been in her home a week and today Sasktel is parking in MY driveway to install her internet.... *sigh*. It's ok, I really didn't want to leave the house to get stuff done today anyway....
