    @Murse759 I’m not entirely sure, why the big difference between SGI and ICBC. Perhaps coverage levels? Also if I’m not mistaken the profits from SGI Canada subsidize their provincial rates. I lived in Sask for five years and really enjoyed the service from both Sasktel and SGI.

    @conorsvan1 ICBC isn’t twice as expensive as Alberta lmao, it’s usually cheaper. And SGI is the cheapest insurance in Canada. Sasktel is the best telecom company in Canada and drives down the other big 3’s prices in Saskatchewan. A public option is absolutely a good thing for esssntials.

    @lethnewsnow I *never* get them. I phoned SaskTel last year and they didn't seem to know why. I just hope there is never a *real* emergency.

    @kirkrussell4 @flipkoin2 Lüm mobile runs on Bell's network outside of Saskatchewan, but the profits go back to the provincially owned, SaskTel. Support the people of Saskatchewan who kept public ownership.

    I've had more spam texts , phishing bullshit, scam phone calls in addition to crap internet service and dropped calls in the near 2 months I've been with Sasktel than the last 12 years combined while I was w Bell ... Get your **** together ffs

    @SharonASR @saskatoonGord If anything, they could take the new arena money and improve accessibility to and from SaskTel Centre - as that's been the biggest issue with that location. And they'd have money left over to use for things that are of higher priority in our city.

Effective April 1, 2026, the province’s crown corporation will manage installation, equipment purchases, and billing in-house for qualifying rural businesses holding a valid GST number. This initiative directly supports small farms, mines, and forestry operations in areas where traditional fibre or broadband infrastructure remains costly and slow to deploy. Existing Starlink Business customers can switch to SaskTel billing at no charge, allowing them to consolidate services seamlessly.
