@CTVToronto The big culprit is our CRTC. W/o pay for the highest internet rate in the world and now this. I had an emergency in my apartment, could not even call the super. A friend with Telus saved me and my neighbour with water damage

@TheJenRollins Telus went to a converged IP network ages ago (they were one of the first telcos to do it actually) over a decade ago. If they crash their BGP there’d be a similar outage to rogers even for “landlines” which haven’t been POTS anywhere in ages. TLDR it’s all internet protocol now.

@Michellesince66 @JoshuaKnaak @NaheedD They arent a monopoly but they sure have demonstrated the damage they will cause if they merge with telus and become one

@TELUS Additionally Telus has stolen over 7-9 days worth of my time on the phone, for errors of their own doing. Lack of account management on their end, and lacking consistency to ensure their customers are happy with their services. When in fact, they are just putting up with them.

Canadas telecom oligopoly problem is so bad since even if you don’t use Bell, Rogers or Telus, the smaller providers often use the infrastructure of the big 3 so if there’s an outage, you’re also ******.

Thought today it is worse, before I could at least eventually login to my Telus account as long as I kept trying, now I can't.

@AmitAryaMD I have a Landline. Telus and Bell were working. My Fido cell was down. I keep cash at home. As horrible as it is to have an outage, a bad windstorm, tornado, or other terrible things can shut out power too. We rely too much on technology.
