They serve many Alberta customers.** Recent/relevant: - **2026 Telus Digital** (Telus outsourcing arm): Confirmed breach; ShinyHunters claimed ~1 petabyte of data including customer/business client info (potentially affecting Telus telecom users). - **2026 Rogers/Fido**: Alleged breach; 10.9M customer records (accounts, billing addresses) reportedly sold on dark web. - **Bell Canada**: 2017 (~1.9M customer emails/phone numbers); 2018 (100k); 2024 (2.2M data leak). The outage, affecting areas such as Masset and Prince Rupert, is due to vandalism, according to Telus. The company has not yet provided an estimated time of repair.

Its Canadian headcount has steadily declined while global grew. • Bell does offshore some customer service/IT (complaints about India/Philippines agents and recent moves are common). • Rogers has done the least visible offshoring for customer-facing roles: It publicly committed to (and delivered) 100% Canadian-based call centers/customer service teams (including repatriating Shaw jobs in 2023). It still positions itself as the only national carrier with this focus, though recent cuts, AI, and third-party shifts have drawn criticism like the others.
