@telus big pet peeve of mine is having to call in to a service provider because they have made severe errors on a bill. Makes me think this nonsense is intentional because the average person doesn't catch it.

@jedgar my bad, i had a preconceived notion with Telus be my the one to build a data center. It’s like hearing T-Mobile building AWS or AT&T building GCP. What’s the reliability of Telus data center like?

  • Benefarr
    Nelson Gilbert (@Benefarr) reported

@NorthrnPrspectv Worked for McKesson, RelayHealth, SureScripts, etc. Libs glanced at e-prescribing in the U.S. “Lets build our own Rx network”. Libs dropped $300 M on PrescribeIT. Doctors refused. Adoption rate: >5%. Will be shut down this month. TELUS gets huge check; Canadians get nothing.

@RogersHelps The payment arrangement should take priority over the autopayment. Thats how it worked with Telus and how it should be working with every network provider. However, given that you’re all the same anyways, can’t say I’m surprised. I will be exploring my options. Horrible 1st month

  • DarkDeeM
    Matthew D (@DarkDeeM) reported

@Teslarati If Starlink can get to about $50 bucks/month (Telus internet on a 2 year plan with a "good" deal), then I would switch and never go back. I think once it gets cheap enough to directly compete with established providers, it's game over.

"We are getting to a point where not answering your phone is the safest thing to do" These scam calls are so common, and usually involve the scammers spoofing a local number to help fool the victim. Somehow @TELUS is unable (or unwilling) to do anything about number spoofing 😑

  • hayley_yyy26
    Hayley (@hayley_yyy26) reported

My mom called @TELUS twice to cancel her services and amazingly, the call kept dropping. This is beyond unprofessional. @TELUSsupport

  • GeniusITM
    Ingenious (@GeniusITM) reported

@PeterMeiszner TELUS's established BPO operations via TELUS Digital, which runs customer service and support centres in Guatemala and the Philippines involving access to Canadian personal data. In March 2026 TELUS Digital was breached, exposing nearly a petabyte of sensitive records.

@unclehaver However, it is also corporate welfare for Telus and an impulsive investment, so have to say it: it’s bad

@JsonBasedman @TheGeorgePu @TELUS I would rather have seen that money go to proven research cases, but then of course there is a lot of potential for fraud Point being we have talent here and I don’t see how Telus isn’t going to make it it more accessible for them Many researchers are stuck renting from RunPod and similar providers or else self funding The question is who is this supposed to benefit I don’t see Telus acquiring prime locations and getting a break on taxes as beneficial to Canadians (this is the same company who is in trouble for using AI to cover up their telephone rep’s accents) They certainly aren’t going to make the cost of inference cheaper - we are already way behind and the cost has gone up, which means Telus is paying a premium Canadian startups are better off buying used GPUs at this point
