@TELUS customer service is appalling. It’s not the agents fault I am sure it is the culture that has been created. Heaven forbid you want to speak to a person. Online chat is a robot so useless. Agents don’t take the time to actually look into anything with any effort.

Bell is honestly terrible. I switched from TELUS after 10 years and the service from Bell makes me regret switching. They charged a payment from my acct without authorization

@Starlink UPDATE: Been on @Starlink for the last week 100% ... did some tests, interesting results... Since I use a vpn and wireguard for work, I tested the speed of the connections... Fiber Optic from @telus is way faster without the vpn, but I can't do that for work.... Starlink was faster then the optic on the vpn... I don't really have an idea as to why, I do know that I am physically close to the main trunk lines and main pbx for the area, so that might have a lot to do with it... more switches to deal with in vpn mode via optic, less with starlink. This was actually surprising for me. So as far as wireguard+vpn starlink wins for sure. But... I still have an issue with the billing office being in Canada, and randomizing the mac address is still a problem, but that one might be just the way I have configured things, will look more into it. As for the canada connection, that might be solved later via some changes that are coming for us as a family. we'll see.

@AngelaUnspoken Virgin Mobility it's essentially Bell Mobility under a different branding. Same EPC, same billing system, same network backbone. Same thing goes with Telus and Koodo. Koodo is Telus' flanker brand. My guess is that you've probably switched to a BYOD plan by switching to Virgin from Bell. This is how much I pay, on a BYOD plan. Just a disclaimer, this is a business / corporate account.

@TrixieLeRue I left TELUS because even as an employee, they had a "rushman" visit my house to try to fix my internet connection over a dozen times and still couldn't figure out how to fix it. I managed to get my current Shaw issue fixed with a friend.

  • Banancial
    Banancial (@Banancial) reported

$TU — Dividend investors in TU just got peeled. TELUS announced a brutal 55% dividend cut to $0.1875/quarter, coinciding with a $2.1 billion non-cash impairment at TELUS Digital. This drove a $1.8 billion net loss for Q2. This wasn't a minor tweak; it's a clear signal of deeper operational challenges, especially within their digital segment, following a Q1 dividend growth pause and a 52% net income drop in May. The drastic dividend reset aims to deleverage the balance sheet, targeting 3.0x net debt/EBITDA by end-2028 from 3.5x currently. This move is expected to save $2.7 billion cumulatively through 2028, with the DRIP discount ending October 1st to further reduce dilution. Full-year guidance was slashed across the board: service revenue now flat to -2%, Adjusted EBITDA -2% to -4%, and free cash flow around $1.8 billion. This magnitude of impairment and guidance cut will rattle income-focused portfolios. We're watching for concrete asset monetization updates and progress on their leverage target. We peel the news before it peels you. Source & full breakdown: Wiseek (link in bio)
