A little bit of hell at home - 4 days after Fiona #pei has poor smart phone service from @bell @telus, virtually no wifi and 75% without lights and heat. Every day has been a trial of some sort. Oh well, it can only get better. And we go to bed by 9 in the dark.

@zeagan No Eastlink is by themselves- Telus and Bell have an agreement! Our internet at home has been really slow too

I'm happy cellular Co's offer "free" data to support people thru these times, but seriously. We get credit down the road sometime, AND we're still forced to pay for more data if we max out. Thanks @koodo @TELUS Not worth being a good customer.

@NeilGunner @Rogers @RogersHelps I had koodo (telus ) before fido and they had an outage which impacted me. They're all prone to downtime but the latest 24h outage for me is unacceptable

@Limbictweets My pro observation is more people have gotten rid of landlines. My phone & internet providers are different. If one went down, I would still have the other. The bundle with Telus is not worth changing when I get great deals from Costco for new phones with coverage from Virgin.

@midnightriderV2 Still don't use a cell phone, daily. It's wonderful. And I worked Biz Solutions for TELUS + never used cell again after retiring. I never dropped everything for a phone call at home. Still use my Dad's handy shortwave radio for tunes in the yard.

@TWilsonOttawa Thing is, Bell and Telus are just as bad. Many others are just licensing use of their networks. So.. I'd say, have a back up pay-as-you-go on a different network than your main. Always keep cash on hand. Trudeau hates not tracking our purchases.

@tea_spiracy It was only Rogers Communications that had an outage. Anyone using Bell’s or Telus’ infrastructure (which includes thousands of companies across Canada) were just fine. Majority of the country didn’t have a problem.

@CStachniuk @ShayeGanam Nope. I will have to bite the bullet and go to Telus even though I said for years Telus would never see a dime from me.

@avijustin Telus is working fine, we are fine in the West. Rogers is not that big out here because they could not give us good service.

  • WPerryWilliams1

@Limbictweets In BC Telus is switching land lines phones to digital as well. Now they won't work in a power outage when the modem loses power...

  • ycrepeau
    Yanik Crépeau 🎗 🇺🇦 (@ycrepeau) reported

@jimmio92 @Frankenstein68 In some area, Rogers is the only provider. So, Bell and Telus use Rogers antennas to serve their own clients. In such a region, absolutely no cellular service from any companies.

Rogers pissed me off in about 2001 and I swore I would never connect with them again. Boom. Thanks @TELUS for the working network all day long.
