Shawn Tock (@TockShawn) reported@RogersHelps @rogers: 15 hours with no internet, using my @telus phone as a hotspot. At 8 am, you said it'd take 4 hours to fix. Then 4-6 hours. Then the Rogers outage page kept extending the resolution time by an hour. Now an agent told me 24 hours. WTF? Unacceptable.

Since I use a vpn and wireguard for work, I tested the speed of the connections... Fiber Optic from @telus is way faster without the vpn, but I can't do that for work.... Starlink was faster then the optic on the vpn... I don't really have an idea as to why, I do know that I am physically close to the main trunk lines and main pbx for the area, so that might have a lot to do with it... more switches to deal with in vpn mode via optic, less with starlink. This was actually surprising for me. So as far as wireguard+vpn starlink wins for sure. But... I still have an issue with the billing office being in Canada, and randomizing the mac address is still a problem, but that one might be just the way I have configured things, will look more into it. As for the canada connection, that might be solved later via some changes that are coming for us as a family. we'll see.

As a result, bad actors are calling clients as if from a major provider and HAVE enough client details to make people believe it’s a legit call.
