@FP_Champagne Is there a policy and technical way to ensure that canadians could switch to another provider (say videotron, bell, telus or shaw) if a provider (say rogers) goes down on an emergency basis, at the expense of of the downed provider (example rogers)?

  • camcavers Cam Cavers FKA Cam Cabers (@camcavers) reported from Vancouver, British Columbia

@infil00p I think they fixed it late evening, but I’m not sure; wife and I are on Telus and I actually just finished moving both my kids’ phones from Speakout (which uses Rogers network) to Public prepaid sims, which is obviously Telus as it was bought out in 2016.

@zwambagger @taimhuynh I have a telus phone my work phone is Bell. Internet and cable are bell and didn't have any noticeable issues all day. I work from home on a vpn and everything is fine.

@zwambagger @taimhuynh Telus: best customer service imo. I switched after 15 yrs caz when I moved to basement at work, I had no reception. Switched to Rogers with a corporate discount. Bell focuses on new customer, not retention/loyalty. Rogers connectivity better than Bell. Let’s see its plans for DR

  • copleac Peacenik ☮️ (@copleac) reported

@Erenskill @AboutRogers @RogersHelps We pay $152 / month for TV, internet and landline phone. I can get on the internet using my cellphone as a hotspot, thanks to Koodoo and Telus. This outage is maddening. More than 24 hours later, still no service.

  • NoThebaine Bob B. (N95 Masked, & Vaxxed to the Max) (@NoThebaine) reported

@WesternHemlox I know 2 BC older folks who've always had land lines &never internet service. Presumably, Telus' own phone network still exists apart from the internet,& Telus' line into yr. home can connect to both. I believe land lines still have superior audio quality vs. VOIP (which I have)

  • MarleneJF4 MarleneJF (@MarleneJF4) reported from Kelowna, British Columbia

@cczwolf Telus didn't go down we had TV, internet, land line & 2 cell phones up and running all day. This is BC!

  • Lady_Noremon Captain | Keep On Keeping On | Exhausted (@Lady_Noremon) reported

For those that don't know; Canada had one of the top 3 telephone/cellular/Internet services go down yesterday. It's what's tied to Interac (debit card banking system) and many other major things. I luckily have TELUS & Bell-Aliant for cellular/Internet so mine wasn't down.

  • jbkvcasr_bj JB (@jbkvcasr_bj) reported

@TheBeaverton Uneventful day! Hardly noticed cell phone wasn’t working. What does that tell you? Two things-life doesn’t end if Rogers, Telus, Fido, Bell,… fail and amount they charge you for their unreliable service is insane.

  • acerbic_comic Marg K (@acerbic_comic) reported

@RealAndyLeeShow And you honestly believe its the mandate of Rogers, Bell and Telus to fix the climate? No wonder you are on that downmarket radio station.
