  I follow dividend kings and champions very closely. Today, Telus $TU just cut its dividend by 55%. That move ends a 22-year streak of yearly increases at the second-largest telecom firm in Canada. Shares were down as much as 14% as soon as the news came out. The red flags sat out in the open for some time. The firm carried a weak dividend score of 6.8. Its payout ratio sat at a wild 278%. The yield hit 11%, and anything over 6% already looks risky. Debt forced the issue. Management needed cash, and the dividend was the fastest place to grab it. The company is listed in my International Dividend Champions report. The next update of that list will show the change.

  $TU — Dividend investors in TU just got peeled. TELUS announced a brutal 55% dividend cut to $0.1875/quarter, coinciding with a $2.1 billion non-cash impairment at TELUS Digital. This drove a $1.8 billion net loss for Q2. This wasn't a minor tweak; it's a clear signal of deeper operational challenges, especially within their digital segment, following a Q1 dividend growth pause and a 52% net income drop in May. The drastic dividend reset aims to deleverage the balance sheet, targeting 3.0x net debt/EBITDA by end-2028 from 3.5x currently. This move is expected to save $2.7 billion cumulatively through 2028, with the DRIP discount ending October 1st to further reduce dilution. Full-year guidance was slashed across the board: service revenue now flat to -2%, Adjusted EBITDA -2% to -4%, and free cash flow around $1.8 billion. This magnitude of impairment and guidance cut will rattle income-focused portfolios. We're watching for concrete asset monetization updates and progress on their leverage target.   This is probably one of the most de-risking press releases from $AMPG to date. Why? $4M came from Telus, but the most important part is that $2M came from somewhere else. This means Amplitech has another customer placing multi-million dollar orders. Is this $AMZN, $IBM, Fujitsu Spain, or someone else? We will know soon. What makes this even better is that the $4M from Telus sits on top of the $5 to $7M that Fawad mentioned in the June interview. That means Telus has already exceeded the LOI with $9 to $11M. Customer concentration risk just got de-risked. So bullish! 🔥🚀

  @TELUSsupport @brndntlrnlsn TELUS changed my internet plan from 1.5 Gbps to 1 Gbps without my knowledge or consent. There was no notice, no explanation—nothing. If I ask them to fix it, only results is they charge me $200, no improvement after the repair.
