@benlucier the good thing about Freedom right now is that they have deals to backpack onto Telus's network when their own coverage ends, so they don't have the same problems of a few years ago where coverage was spotty (i'm still on Telus but nearly jumped over this week for the $40 Can/Us/Mex plan)

@sportswildwind @CP24 I hear you but I wouldn't "discount" the "discount brand" entirely Freedom is the reason the big 3 continue to become more affordable, and PM is owned by Telus so you are getting the Telus network at a fraction of the cost. At that rate though you must be similar to myself where you have a corporate affinity program/discount. Rack rate from Rogers is not $40/100 GB.

@JFN1971 I hang up as soon as I hear them! So think about that @Bell @TELUS and whoever else thinks they are saving money by going offshore.

  • JoshTraubMedia Josh Traub (@JoshTraubMedia) reported

@6ixbuzztv Wish it would happen sooner! I just spent over an hour on the phone with @TELUS fighting the exact same thing. We brought 4 family members over to my line to save money, and they tried hitting me with $240 in BS "connection fees." I brought them business, and we all know it doesn't cost them anything to flip a switch on an account. Here is the exact runaround they gave me (and how to beat it if you're in the same boat): 📞 The rep told me the "absolute best" they could do was 50% off the fees. 📞 I called their bluff: "If you can adjust it 50%, you have the power to adjust it 100%. Take it off entirely." 📞 Put on hold. Rep comes back: "Okay, one-time final offer, 75% off." 📞 Me: "No thank you. Put a manager on the line so I can get 100% taken off. This is a bogus charge." 📞 Put on hold again. Same rep comes back 5 minutes later, and suddenly, magically, 100% off is possible after all. The screw-around is unbelievable. It honestly sounded like an outsourced call center just trying to squeeze out a little extra commission on a made-up charge. Don't back down when they try this. Call their bluff, ask for a manager, and refuse to pay those fees!

@TELUSsupport @TELUS your customer service need a to learn how to do their job. Calls me and leaves a nasty voicemail. Uncalled for. Unprofessional. That seems to be the #Telus way. 👎🏻 0 stars - do not recommend

Warning Canadians today about a massive @TELUSsupport breach that has EXTREME implications for ALL customers. If you're a telus customer change all passwords, pin numbers, security codes everything. Also I'd be calling asking for an explanation, compensation and demanding they replace the device as hackers can use information obtained to attempt to take over your account/device. Some details: Telus Digital has confirmed it is investigating a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to a limited number of its systems. The confirmation follows claims by the hacking and extortion group ShinyHunters that they stole nearly 1 petabyte (1,000 terabytes) of data in a multi-month breach. The hackers claim to have accessed data related to Telus's business process outsourcing (BPO) operations, as well as call records for its consumer telecommunications division. This allegedly includes: Personally identifiable information (PII) of customers. Voice recordings of support calls and detailed call metadata (time, duration, numbers). Internal source code and financial information. Information related to approximately 28 well-known client companies served by Telus Digital.
