notadampaul (@notadampaul) reported@PaulyTremonte @tunguz in the context of AI the useful metric is FLOPS/$, or useful compute per dollar. On this measure, Telus is far behind the pack. They also provide the ~worst telecom service in the entire developed world at the most expensive rates. So yeah, I expect it to be done similarly poorly
-
Darren Gudmundson (@BrianOakely) reportedThis would, of course be the sensible way of proceeding. Problem is they would have admit that Canada does not, and will not have a "Sovereign" anything ICT related. And, Telus, Bell, and Rogers are laden with debt and desperate for growth.

Oh Boy It's Kale (@OhBoyItsKale) reported@LXXXIVMJW @Emily_Lowan Well telus reported 525 for these 3 sites. These jobs will include technicians, operators, engineers, managers and support roles like security

LallyA (@LallyAd) reported@TELUSsupport I have so much regrets going to Telus mobility and Telus home service nothing ever works and my complaints never get solved just get put into circle
-
Sarah (@shankarita) reported@deliaflower1 You probably got someone in Pakistan. I had to get help from the BBB once before a Canadian Tech from Telus called me and fixed the problem.

new day new way He/Him π¨π¦ (@Dmoore75766944) reported@sitkamedia Power rates tripled for other municipalities residents to provide for the data centres. Public needs a guarantee that rates will never be impacted, is Telus getting subsidies and tax breaks by the city?

Wendigo (@driftingwendigo) reported@JakeLandauTO @TDarcyM @taxspendlib That's a very different threat model and I agree 100%. But the Telus sovereign AI is being used in commercial applications (specifically mine, my team gets the weird ****).

Mike Was Right π¨π¦πΊπΈπ²π½ (@MikeHumanIntel) reported@mario4thenorth If I call Rogers or Telus, it takes 90 minutes on hold to talk to some foreigner who will likely not resolve my problem. When I call Mint Mobile in the US, I go through a very friendly Ryan Reynolds AI attendant and talk to an American right away. Plus, they understand and resolve my problem. Canadians have no clue how bad it has become for them.

guy guy (@guyguy47587709) reported@MTe005 @cd_hooks @Lux_Stella_ instead of building this in the middle of nowhere theyβre gonna waste prime real estate and staggering amounts of tax payer dollar so Telus and the other telecoms and gut their workforces even further. Absolute retard you are
