Jean-François Mezei (@jfmezei) reported@BenKlass @CANADALAND The end result is that Bell and Telus decided to build cellular in MB to compete against telco incumbent MTS. This is what drove prices down because Bell/Telus were out o hurt MTS by lowering prices to gain market share (they started with 0%). MTS has always been the incumbent.

Jean-François Mezei (@jfmezei) reported@BenKlass @CANADALAND When MTS bought Allstream it became black sheep because it stepped out of its territory to compete against Bell/Telus with CNCP’s national network. Also: Bell could no longer buy MTS because of Allstream being one of 2 national networks (telco + CNCP).
