In MB, Explornet has lost market share over time & its plans are now more aligned w/ the big 3 nat'l carriers wrt higher prices & restrictive mobile data terms, lousy service &, afaik, w/ only one retail outlet to serve MB subs. Xplornet is a study in failure vs an option in 5/.

  • mediamorphis Dwayne Winseck (@mediamorphis) reported

The idea that replacing a 4th mobile operator that has spurred lower prices, bigger data plans & better service in ON, AB & BC w/ Xplornet whose fate wld turn on Rogers doing what is @ odds w/ its interests & that regulators could monitor things afterwards is a fairy tale. 10/

It’s hard to believe when your @Xplornet internet goes down it’ll take 17 days to get a technician out but you can get a new install from the competition in 4 days. #servicefail

  • TheHersh Amy Hersenhoren (@TheHersh) reported

I’m trying to cancel internet services with a Canadian company. It should take 20 minutes. I spoke to someone for 5 minutes and was passed to “loyalty” to complete the process. On hold for an hour. Is it really a surprise you are losing all your biz to @SpaceXStarlink @Xplornet ?

  • canhockeyhoser canadianhoser (@canhockeyhoser) reported

@Xplornet are we going to have this outage fixed today? Come on already give us some kind of update beyond we’re working diligently.

  • WiredWizard69 Charles Banton (@WiredWizard69) reported

Best or Worst part is, in the last year a company called metroloop ran fibre at the end of the road after 5 years of Bell saying THEY would. BUT.. xplornet bought out metroloop.. BUT, they ARE offering 300 mbs unlimited fibre for $60/month compared to starlinks 100 mbs?? for $150

  • BrockLupton Brock (@BrockLupton) reported

@Xplornet What is going on with this outage in Napanee, Ontario? I've had no service since at least 0900. Was this scheduled? Why wasn't there any notification and why don't you provide updates on outages?

  • mediamorphis Dwayne Winseck (@mediamorphis) reported

This article does not cover the idea that a Rogers/Xplornet deal wld involve a network sharing agreement but that'd be folly b/c it assumes Rogers would do what it’s interests are 180° opposed to: support a new formidable 4th mobile operator to replace one that already exists. 8/

wants to help us out by donating a unit, it will likely be through Xplornet as we just can't afford anything else. Once that happens, I hope to add some live feed nature cams around the property.
