Acura (@TheSmitefulOne) reported@b3almason @RachelNotley I have Xplornet. My neighbors have Starlink. We checked together. Both suck, however, many in the area have said their Xplornet signal became better when some users switched to Starlink. They are roughly the same, but nowhere near as good as fibre optic in the cities.

Had Xplornet (garbage), then Rogers Rocket hub (great speed but expensive), then Netago local company out of Hanna (was overall good, company sold to Telus and I hate Telus)

Allan Wilson (@uncleal13) reported@CoryBMorgan I had Xplornet, worked great for a few years, then it would bog down in the evenings as everyone in the area was streaming video. I switched to Statlink, works much better. Currently here in Saskatchewan in my village there are crews going through running the main fiberoptic lines and should have it to all the residences sometime in the summer. I'll be switching to the fibre when I can. I like Starlink, but I don't think it is sustainable, when it is up to full capacity, to continuously launch 3,000 satellites a year to maintain a fleet of 15,000. They are low earth orbit. Meaning each satellite can only stay in orbit about 5-7 years, then it comes down and burns up.

High Caliber (@RealHICALIBER) reported@PersonNotGroup @TheQuartering We got the same service Jeremy has (starlink) or we couldn't have done what he did. We found 52 acres WAAAAY up in the rockies, no cell coverage at all, but we needed internet of course. Xplornet was the only previous option, and not at all reliable.
