@Xplornet many internet users of your service in @SthFrontenacTwp having internet issues and getting kicked off? Is there too much of a surge on the system? @SFrontenac

@AndyBlizzard87 I hear ya. I was with WTC for years near Sunbury but after our last move they didn’t have coverage in our current rural area. We were forced to choose @Xplornet, who have been hit and miss, but over the last 1-2 years they’ve been brutal because they flooded their LTE service.

@AnnDeer4 @Xplornet I have and they quickly gave me a $15/month credit for 6 months. But I almost don’t care - it’s the speed and dependability I need, not a relatively menial and temporary savings in service. I think that’s also telling how they gave the discount so effortlessly.

I feel like @Xplornet and similar rural internet companies are the modern equivalent of Blockbuster, and guys like @elonmusk with @SpaceX’s Starlink are Netflix. The former simply can’t see the train coming down the tracks. Stop ignoring your customers’ needs! 7/

So, I ask an honest question of @Xplornet - what are you doing to address your overburdened LTE service? Forget the corporate speak, subterfuge, key messaging & the oh so dreaded, “Please contact our customer support.”Instead, provide a true answer so we can decide to stay or go.

Brad Duffy (@gbdmedia) reported from South Frontenac, Ontario
@APLenehan our local tower has had “known issues” for four years now. Our internet doesn’t work at all now. According to xplornet, there are no plans to fix the tower. This is the worst service I have ever seen. 10 kB/s now. This is shameful.

Steve Koopman (@koopy) reported from South Frontenac, Ontario
The tragic thing is we get used to @Xplornet’s shitty service, we sit there, and we take it. We become complacent, and we say: “Well, tonight it only took 1 min to buffer a movie.” “I think those pixels are faces.” “It only paused or froze 10 times over 2 hours.” 13/

Kent Hunter-Duvar (@KentDuvar) reported
@jordanrynard @kijekijikokwe @Xplornet I've never needed a static ip to open a VPN connection. Nor am I aware of needing ipv6. Not so many years ago, I couldn't use VPN on Rogers to connect to work. VPN would report a successful connection, but I couldn't access anything. 1/2

@Xplornet Internet has gone from not really usable to just completely down today. Is there an outage near Onoway or something? I've DM'ed you with specific location details.

Tyler Geisler Monkman (@tygeisler) reported
@bkives @Xplornet internet and customer service is complete trash. They advertise you'll get a certain speed and then you never get that speed and they don't care when you call them out on it. Awful internet

The Truth (@the_truth1234) reported
@ctvwinnipeg The provincial employee that made this decision has clearly never had Xplornet internet before. It’s brutal. #TheTruth

@Woofers_MB I asked. No cost incurred to Xplornet, but they will reimburse MB Hydro if the Crown corporation incurs cost to operationalize the network to them.

Gerard Cooke (@GerardCooke8) reported
@Xplornet I would be happy with 30 down and 2 up off the Pugwash NS tower. Never got that yet
-
Kent Hunter-Duvar (@KentDuvar) reported
@jordanrynard @kijekijikokwe @Xplornet After multiple calls, I was finally told Rogers didn't support VPN connections over security about the type of traffic. They monitor and throttle torrents for example and don't want customers hiding traffic via VPN. After a week with Rogers I left. 2/2

Woofers (@Woofers_MB) reported
@CBCManitoba ≪ neither Clear Sky, nor the business partner, took part in last August's request for proposal, which was won by Xplornet ≫ That's too bad. If it's any consolation, I don't think Pallister did adequate consultation before offering up Crown corporation assets. #mbpoli #woof

sizzle (@the_sizz) reported
@Xplornet so sad that this was my favorite provider but as of today my internet went out and no word from this company when it will be back on so why am I paying for a service that I can't use.

@benlucier @EvanGetson MB Gov is about to finalize an RFP in which they basically hand a provincial crown-owned fibre network to Xplornet. Local ISPs are not pleased
