@Shaybeerta @JulieRohrYEG @ShawInfo Came here to say exactly this! Best way to get good speed is just run a long Cat6 cable directly from your modem. Wi-Fi will never be as good, even with a booster.

@Shawhelp why do you send rude technicians who don't know what they're doing? At least get 1/2 the equation right.

@JulieRohrYEG @ShawInfo 5/ Run trial web casting sessions. If the signal is still poor. Switching ISPs might be an option. Pls keep in mind that the trial sessions need to closely resemble the traffic generated during the event. So you need a trial session w/ the same # of expected guests or greater.

@JulieRohrYEG @ShawInfo 1/ Is the signal boosting for wifi? If so, signal boosting extends the reach of a signal. Signal boosting won't help w/ poor service coming into a home. Shaw runs feed lines to neighborhood connection points. Subscriber lines are run from the connection point to a person's home.

@JulieRohrYEG @ShawInfo We wired ethernet cables through the whole apartment (and have wired through the heat vents/staircases) from the router - a 50ft cable can be like $30 and you can get longer ones online. We can handle multiple zoom calls at once with no problem now.

I could use some twitter tech advice. I am leading a course via zoom (two hours long six weeks in a row) & our internet is *bad.* We've spent hours on the phone with @ShawInfo trying to fix it, they keep saying 'it's upgraded now, it will work' & still bad. I'm nervous. Advice?
