I was told that I’d get a call back in 45 minutes and was over 1 1/2 hours. Our time is valuable too and it seems like customer service is not the same as when I initially joined @Shaw as that was the reason. Just really disappointed as Telus sucks but no other option.

@ctvedmonton Eastern Canada was paralyzed by this outage - this is an issue when you have too few service providers that you cant even call it an oligopoly - it seems that China could have its way with Canada and our oil just by shutting down mother bell, rogers and telus with one keystroke

@SteveRickettsSP There are several reasons - ranging from marketing, to a lack of confidence that the “discount” brand will be around. (Eg. Telus when they swallowed clearnet - kept the Clearnet branding, but the service offerings disappeared …

@natnewswatch Thanks for putting Rogers network outage into perspective. It doesn’t happened often but telecom networks do fail. I’m in western Canada on TELUS and if I hadn’t seen the news I would never have heard about the Rogers outage.

@CBCNews It is time to allow customers to freely roam on Bell on Telus, when one network goes down. That should be a federal goal.

@RogersHelps Go Telus. Rogers had my service for 2 weeks, once I realized I couldn't get service at my workplace where Telus and bell have full signal, same with AT&T across the lake, I left. Wouldn't connect to bell or Telus towers cause Rogers "has one in the area" although it doesn't reach

@AmitAryaMD It was a bad outage, but it isn't true that millions of Canadians couldn't call 911. 911 calls on Rogers and Fido phones would use the Bell or Telus networks if they were available. But, it's true that hospitals couldn't call families.

@dylanblackradio I am in North Toronto/Scarborough. The cable is a little less glitchy today and all channels have signals. But periodic loss of signal for a few seconds. I am NOT convinced things are really stable. I got a Telus phone as back up yesterday.

@tcheramy Agreed. But that won't happen internally. Great pressure needs to happen on the outside so that this *never* happens again. Not only with Rogers, but wit the rest of the Big Three that are Telus and Bell. But I have no hopes of that happening, especially with a gutless CRTC.

@RodKahx @Victoria59L That's the funny thing. The government....We want globalism! But we can only have a couple options for business in Canada. Hmmm WTF are you talking about tards. Sobeys, loblaw,Patterson group.... Air Canada, West jet and subsidiaries.. Bell, shaw, telus, Roger's + subsidiaries
