@JayIsPainting @Shawhelp I switched to Telus a few years ago and have no regrets. They just sent someone out to check our lines as there have been issues in my area. They called me to provide better service and send a tech! #nocomplaints

@dylanblackradio I am in North Toronto/Scarborough. The cable is a little less glitchy today and all channels have signals. But periodic loss of signal for a few seconds. I am NOT convinced things are really stable. I got a Telus phone as back up yesterday.

@charlesadler @Rogers An outage at a phone company shouldn’t have catastrophic national fallout. I was grateful for my Shaw internet connection and Telus phone service on Friday.

@SteveRickettsSP @kaclk Both, I believe the original deal was struck when Telus bought Clearnet PCS. Outside of urban centres pretty much only Telus has towers/antennas west of Saskatchewan and only Bell East of it. There is some version of backend network routing that lets them switch.

@TaraBull808 it was more to do with Rogers phone service. Made Interac unavail in most areas(and mobile access was down). My Telus service ran smooth sailing but i needed cash to get anything from a storefront

@ctvedmonton Eastern Canada was paralyzed by this outage - this is an issue when you have too few service providers that you cant even call it an oligopoly - it seems that China could have its way with Canada and our oil just by shutting down mother bell, rogers and telus with one keystroke

@David_Moscrop *I say by choice, b/c if the Shaw merger goes through, my choices in BC for internet are Telus’s (who only escape the poll b/c of their Western focused footprint) subpar offerings, or keeping my existing great fibre service after it transitions from Shaw to Rogers post merger

@telus After a month of issues, going to Telus stores, apple stores and talking to tech support for countless hours we have no resolution. A manager doesn’t call back when he is suppose. Did I get a call back on Thursday like he said, nope. Unacceptable.

@SteveRickettsSP There are several reasons - ranging from marketing, to a lack of confidence that the “discount” brand will be around. (Eg. Telus when they swallowed clearnet - kept the Clearnet branding, but the service offerings disappeared …

I think the major providers Bell,Rodgers,Telus..need to understand how inconvient it is to not have service..come up with a plan for one service when down to piggy back onto another (for their customers)..it's only fair!!
