Odd that when Telus and Bell had a multi Atlantic province outage taking out emergency services communication, including 911, debit etc, and the next year, Rogers the same, there wasn't such a fuss.

@ryangerritsen Yep I called @TELUS to cancel 10 sim cards for our business (we have 60 other active ones), shoulda been easy to do. I had all the numbers, she even asked me to email the list to her & it took her OVER AN HOUR. I swear they do it so you give up & hang up. Ridiculous.

@AmazingZoltan All of the big telecom providers. I'll never forget getting a $1200 cancellation fee from Roger's, arguing for three weeks with Bell that no I never asked for cable internet please stop sending technicians, or watching Telus cry like babies when Virgin wanted to come up here

@MaretJaks We are doing the same now, not answering the door unless it is a neighbor. Random rail-thin black and brown men in their early twenties are knocking on our door claiming Unicef, Rogers, Telus, etc, i broken English. They look sketchy AF.

@TELUSsupport Hi Telus support! I cancelled tv and Internet in Jan 26 and you just charged me for equipment not being returned. Canada post shows it returns to you with signature on 26 Jan 26. We need to remove the cancellation charges please.

@ZoeyFeldman @Brendan78354998 @david_parker Do you not understand the meaning of the word “inappropriate”?? Telus (or other service provider) needs your consent aka PERMISSION to public your name/address in a phone book or online listing, or to use the information for other purposes.

@Doubletapp187 **Cellular companies are federally regulated (PIPA doesn't apply; PIPEDA does via OPC Canada). They serve many Alberta customers.** Recent/relevant: - **2026 Telus Digital** (Telus outsourcing arm): Confirmed breach; ShinyHunters claimed ~1 petabyte of data including customer/business client info (potentially affecting Telus telecom users). - **2026 Rogers/Fido**: Alleged breach; 10.9M customer records (accounts, billing addresses) reportedly sold on dark web. - **Bell Canada**: 2017 (~1.9M customer emails/phone numbers); 2018 (100k); 2024 (2.2M data leak). Older incidents exist too. Full details via OPC Canada reports. If notified, monitor accounts/credit. OIPC Alberta site won't list these.

@SerenaCMah @WestJet They can't even price q plane ticket ask them questions about pricing and they won't know what to say, Telus has trainers and quality agents who have never touched a plane 😢, while Canada has staff with several years of exp who do not rely on scripts

  • GraceOnFire2

@rig_pig_11 @AndrewScheer The government funded the program's development, it was revealed that 85% of the intellectual property is owned by its main technology vendor,Telus Health. This meant the government could not easily transfer or maintain the service without continued payments to the private vendor

@Carpaige178176 @Kittie40Girl Bell has issues because a lot of their customers are French and QC freaks the hell out about the stuff. Telus? They've had entire call centres in the Philippines for at least a decade. I know, because my bosses would talk about them and we'd communicate with the offshore agents all the time. The women would joke because the offshore agents would fairly often hit on them and try to find ways into Canada lol.
