    Odd that when Telus and Bell had a multi Atlantic province outage taking out emergency services communication, including 911, debit etc, and the next year, Rogers the same, there wasn't such a fuss.

    $TU — Dividend investors in TU just got peeled. TELUS announced a brutal 55% dividend cut to $0.1875/quarter, coinciding with a $2.1 billion non-cash impairment at TELUS Digital. This drove a $1.8 billion net loss for Q2. This wasn't a minor tweak; it's a clear signal of deeper operational challenges, especially within their digital segment, following a Q1 dividend growth pause and a 52% net income drop in May. The drastic dividend reset aims to deleverage the balance sheet, targeting 3.0x net debt/EBITDA by end-2028 from 3.5x currently. This move is expected to save $2.7 billion cumulatively through 2028, with the DRIP discount ending October 1st to further reduce dilution. Full-year guidance was slashed across the board: service revenue now flat to -2%, Adjusted EBITDA -2% to -4%, and free cash flow around $1.8 billion. This magnitude of impairment and guidance cut will rattle income-focused portfolios. We're watching for concrete asset monetization updates and progress on their leverage target.     **** @TELUS for trying to implement data centres in BC. A terrible company with horrible service. Slow internet even with the faster plans, I've been getting as many people as I can to cancel their plans

    @PrairieVeteran City of Calgary has 5 Level mgmt that can get down to 4 then 3 in 2 years. Redundancy positions. Buy off older Gen with 2 yrs severance pay. TELUS cut off 1400 employees by counting on the NEXT GEN. Stop adding personnel. ADMIN changes. Leadership? Positions stay the same. @DanWMcLean

    Then break up the Canadian telecommunications cartel of the big 3- Bell Roger's & Telus. They are charging us 10x more than USA & European firms do for BETTER content & service

    @67Dodge I believe Telus has a $500M stock buyback program. Damn I hate stock buybacks - is steals from investors and the govt is robbed of taxes, just to artificially prop up share prices which should actually be buoyed by productivity and profits.
