Lance Wunsch (@lance_wunsch) reportedIs anyone else tired of the big 2 mobile and home ‘phone internet providers’? Here we have Telus and Bell, Rogers doesn’t have good mobile coverage. No decent customer service. They have sent it out of the country so they can pay people extremely low wages compared to Canada. Always trying to gouge the customer. It is past time the government allows more competition. Of course this will never happen, I’m would guess it would be due to excellent corporate lobbyists. I am so tired of have a captured government and bureaucracy.

Connor (@ConnorsCompShow) reported- On 8/6/25, I also just so happened to be going northbound on SWRT; though I heard (& caught a clip of) other people's phones getting bad WPAs from ~20 km away at Osborne Stn, the Telus cells in the area behaved properly at that time. It wasn't until Nairn that I busted 116222.

Anyway, I too was paying a high monthly so I told Telus I was considering dumping it and they gave me a loyalty rate of $2.50 per month. They must do this to pretend they still have a customer base. And yes, porting to VOIP is something I was considering as I already have a couple of numbers.

That move ends a 22-year streak of yearly increases at the second-largest telecom firm in Canada. Shares were down as much as 14% as soon as the news came out. The red flags sat out in the open for some time. The firm carried a weak dividend score of 6.8. Its payout ratio sat at a wild 278%. The yield hit 11%, and anything over 6% already looks risky. Debt forced the issue. Management needed cash, and the dividend was the fastest place to grab it. The company is listed in my International Dividend Champions report.
