Then asked for my email address/pin. Then they asked how they could help me. Told them again I was trying to activate voicemail!

In a big city it makes walking around with your phone annoying and unusable. I've been with Freedom for two years and happy other than this. It will make me leave :(

I'll tell you what they're refusing to here: You get an insultingly small amount of data when you're off their network, and you're screwed if you go over. Stay away!
