But if I have to pay for new phones, activation fees and 2 year contract then may as well try something new. Why have loyalty and get no savings after being a customer for years. I was looking at opening a $T Telus fibre Internet account and seeing what the prices/speeds were for comparison to Rogers. On the website it says they are open to 6:30pm pacific and no one is available to talk to me today but get this... Nobody is available ALL DAY Friday to talk to me and the earliest is 1:30pm on Saturday. If you wonder why the stock is down...

I have trouble maintaining a phone call in my KITCHEN IN TOWN .... constantly dropping signal and I am not the only one, there is a dead zone in the subdivision I live in that everyone has issues with but Telus has done nothing IN THE 23 YEARS i HAVE LIVED HERE TO FIX THE PROBLEM ... this issue is well enough known to have had local news stories written about it. SO they want to uograde Victoria you say ... whoop de do :(

cliff wardle (@winemaker1960) reported@67Dodge I believe Telus has a $500M stock buyback program. Damn I hate stock buybacks - is steals from investors and the govt is robbed of taxes, just to artificially prop up share prices which should actually be buoyed by productivity and profits.

But the core claims driving the marches (water grid drain + waste heat baking the city) still don’t match the actual engineering. These aren’t traditional evaporative data centres. Telus/Westbank designs use closed-loop liquid cooling—a sealed system that recirculates the same fluid, like a car radiator. Result: dramatically lower water use (company target: up to 90% less than conventional air-cooled facilities) and near-zero ongoing evaporation for the primary loop. At 150 W Georgia, the heat isn’t vented to the street. It’s transferred into Creative Energy’s district steam plant to help heat 200+ downtown buildings and cut natural-gas demand. That’s the opposite of “warming the city.” Protests highlight real questions about scale, power, and process. Those deserve scrutiny. Spreading outdated assumptions about water and heat does not. #Vancouver #DataCentres #Sustainability
