Shaw Issues Reports Near Oakville, Ontario

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Oakville and nearby locations:

  • AlsoKnownAs_AA Algis Akstinas (@AlsoKnownAs_AA) reported from Toronto, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @ShawInfo Good for people in AB & B.C. that can and want to bundle. But not focused on the underserved or accessibility. Have to have a fixed service, qualify. And accept zoned plan limitations. If you followed the Wireless Industry Review closely @TD_Canada these were some of key points.

  • DelroyDyer89 Delroy Dyer 🇻🇨🇨🇦 (@DelroyDyer89) reported from Toronto, Ontario

Today's #rogersoutage is yet another reason the government needs to divest @FreedomMobile from any sale of @ShawInfo. While all @Rogers brands including #chatr #fido are down, freedom customers have service because it's a separate network still.

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @TELUS @ShawInfo No, I’m only talking about fiber in the ground. It needs to be treated like a utility, not like a competitive service. We don’t need to rip up streets twice and run multiple cables to each home. And if the government is funding it, it 💯 percent needs to be open access.

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@bramabramson @Mark_Goldberg @Bell @Rogers @TELUS @Videotron @ShawInfo The problem today is mostly on inter-carrier calls, so if calls can be routed without using those trunks it would be a big win. I think I’m going to write a follow up post this week with a primer on PSTN routing.

@Shawhelp not sure if this also works for Shaw mobile, but we're having network drop issues like crazy today and Nanaimo is it a known issue

  • Ilovetrees68 Lisa Ricciardi (@Ilovetrees68) reported

@Shawhelp You guys don't make it easy. This is the tv in our lunchroom at work. We have your satellite on the roof and we have no picture quality at all and this has been happening for yrs. I am not the customer it's the city of Mississauga that is.

  • DennisKoch10 Dennis Koch (@DennisKoch10) reported

The answer from @ShawInfo: Good morning! I'm sorry to hear about the poor experience! The BlueCurve modem is not discontinued. Only the older Hitron modem is discontinued and we would still like them back! (1)

  • Mark_Goldberg Mark Goldberg (@Mark_Goldberg) reported

What Jim Wood of Red Deer is confirming to #INDU is that @ShawInfo has been unable to invest adequately to expand its network - as Brad Shaw told them. Seems to me from filings @Rogers transaction is designed to improve Western Canada investment

  • GarrettKwan Garrett K (@GarrettKwan) reported

@Shawhelp day 4 of no service since scheduled start. Hopefully someone from your organization can set up a new customer. Extremely disappointed here. Appointment from April 2 cancelled.

  • shelley_wine Shelley Boettcher (@shelley_wine) reported

Dear @Shawhelp - in the last week, I have spoken to Ramon, Laurie, Jagdeep and now Vaidehee in your tech dept. & we have had two service people come out. Still experiencing crappy connections and no one can give me a date to fix. @TELUSsupport is looking better and better.

  • KaraBagshaw Kara Bagshaw-Sather (@KaraBagshaw) reported

@Shawhelp my senior parents (in their 80s) have been struggling since March 18 with a conversion from Telus to Shaw. My Dad has spent over 30 hours on the phone with various Shaw technicians. This needs to be escalated and resolved immediately. Help!

  • sarahmatthes_ sarah (@sarahmatthes_) reported

so we’ve been without wifi for a week and all @ShawInfo can say is “we’re working on it from the back end”. ******** you have been working on it for a week wtfffff

  • degree5ive Degree5ive (@degree5ive) reported

@Shawhelp That's all? Your internet is not working

  • TrevorBoller trevor boller (@TrevorBoller) reported

@Shawhelp it’s okay. It’s ongoing issue with Shaw. All they send is a link of trouble shooters that anyone can do. All I wanted was a new modem to see if that works.
