Shaw Issues Reports Near Burlington, Ontario

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Burlington and nearby locations:

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @TELUS @ShawInfo No, I’m only talking about fiber in the ground. It needs to be treated like a utility, not like a competitive service. We don’t need to rip up streets twice and run multiple cables to each home. And if the government is funding it, it 💯 percent needs to be open access.

  • DelroyDyer89 Delroy Dyer 🇻🇨🇨🇦 (@DelroyDyer89) reported from Toronto, Ontario

Today's #rogersoutage is yet another reason the government needs to divest @FreedomMobile from any sale of @ShawInfo. While all @Rogers brands including #chatr #fido are down, freedom customers have service because it's a separate network still.

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@bramabramson @Mark_Goldberg @Bell @Rogers @TELUS @Videotron @ShawInfo The problem today is mostly on inter-carrier calls, so if calls can be routed without using those trunks it would be a big win. I think I’m going to write a follow up post this week with a primer on PSTN routing.

  • DelroyDyer89 Delroy Dyer 🇻🇨🇨🇦 (@DelroyDyer89) reported from Toronto, Ontario

@ShawInfo needs to sell @FreedomMobile at a discount. They have neglected the network. It's unacceptable that in this day and age rain interrupts mobile data.

  • MisterJustinT Justin T (@MisterJustinT) reported from Toronto, Ontario

@CM02051985 @smFISHMAN @ShawInfo Enter your info, it might redirect you to the Network. I get a Rogers pop up to enter my info, that might just be how it works for Shaw.

  • AlsoKnownAs_AA Algis Akstinas (@AlsoKnownAs_AA) reported from Toronto, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @ShawInfo Good for people in AB & B.C. that can and want to bundle. But not focused on the underserved or accessibility. Have to have a fixed service, qualify. And accept zoned plan limitations. If you followed the Wireless Industry Review closely @TD_Canada these were some of key points.

  • CharlyNews1 Charly News (@CharlyNews1) reported

@Shawhelp @CourtFantinato Hey Jacoby, we all know how "sorry" Shaw is, but it's time to start talking reimbursement. It is time to credit all your customers for the inconvenience. I wouldn't be so perturbed with bad service had I not just completed Shaw's "outage" survey. So very very lame.

  • EvilTek666 SixSixSixPickUpStix (@EvilTek666) reported

@Shawhelp any idea when internet service will be restored in the Calgary downtown area? Been out for over 12 hours now.

  • freshsqueezed Orin Johnson (@freshsqueezed) reported

Hey @Shawhelp @shaw I know you’re off for the night but… Why are you showing me an emergency alert on bluecurve just now when the alert was canceled THIRTY HOURS PRIOR‽‽‽‽

  • adolwyn Beth Allan (@adolwyn) reported

    @iansu @Shawhelp Well crap.

  • KelseyKash_ Kelsey Kashluba (@KelseyKash_) reported

Why has the internet been down for 16 hours in the beltline, @Shawhelp?

  • Toowoozy Toowoozy (@Toowoozy) reported

Will there be updates coming from @Shawhelp soon? Service has been out for the better part of 3 days in the Maple Ridge B.C. area with little in the way of updates.

  • CourtFantinato Courtney Fantinato (@CourtFantinato) reported

@Shawhelp @KtownRob It’s been over 5 hours since the last update, and over 12 hours down, any ETA now?

  • Red__Wilson Red Wilson (@Red__Wilson) reported

@Shawhelp So was this a fire or a hack because this seems a bit much for a regular outage.

  • jmulrainn Justin Mulrain (@jmulrainn) reported

@Shawhelp This really is in poor taste yall sitting down here with people in downtown having no service

  • Crackmacs cm (@Crackmacs) reported

@adolwyn @Shawhelp in my experience they'll totally credit you the time you're offline doesn't help that it still ****** sucks though
