Shaw Issues Reports Near Burlington, Ontario

Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Burlington and nearby locations:

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @TELUS @ShawInfo No, I’m only talking about fiber in the ground. It needs to be treated like a utility, not like a competitive service. We don’t need to rip up streets twice and run multiple cables to each home. And if the government is funding it, it 💯 percent needs to be open access.

  • mgamble Matthew Gamble (@mgamble) reported from Oakville, Ontario

@bramabramson @Mark_Goldberg @Bell @Rogers @TELUS @Videotron @ShawInfo The problem today is mostly on inter-carrier calls, so if calls can be routed without using those trunks it would be a big win. I think I’m going to write a follow up post this week with a primer on PSTN routing.

  • AlsoKnownAs_AA Algis Akstinas (@AlsoKnownAs_AA) reported from Toronto, Ontario

@Mark_Goldberg @ShawInfo Good for people in AB & B.C. that can and want to bundle. But not focused on the underserved or accessibility. Have to have a fixed service, qualify. And accept zoned plan limitations. If you followed the Wireless Industry Review closely @TD_Canada these were some of key points.

@Shawhelp 90 minutes of calling into your call center for help with my Internet issues has resulted in constant dropped calls on your end. And your chat support via app is borderline non-existent tonight. As a 20+ year customer, this is beyond frustrating.

  • Happyjustice4 Justice.Happy is 99% vaxxed!!!! (@Happyjustice4) reported

@Shawhelp Thank you but this does not help me. I just want tv plans. Not bundles w internet. Can you link me to that?

  • JamesKello James Kellough (@JamesKello) reported from Winnipeg, Manitoba

@Shawhelp I've got a service outage in the R2Y 2K4 postal code. What's your restoration ETA?

  • wandabaker_ Wanda Baker (@wandabaker_) reported

Constantly and still losing Internet since 9:30am thanks to a @shaw service person doing work in our alley. Lost work time and we should be reimbursed. @Shawhelp

  • skatewithpuck Oddmanrush (@skatewithpuck) reported

@Shawhelp Although I got a quick response from your help desk, I was disappointed since this was the second time that I suffered an internet access issue within two weeks. The preliminary access suggested that the signal was fine but the wired speed only gained 172Mbps for shaw 500 service

  • fabfrugalmama Lisa @fabfrugalmama (@fabfrugalmama) reported

I'll never understand how @Rogers thinks that a $2 refund on my next bill will make up for the lost productivity and business during the outage. That's not a goodwill gesture, that's a slap in the face. And don't get me started on the @ShawInfo merger... BAD idea. #rogersoutrage

  • CraigKoban 𝘾𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙧'𝙨 𝘾𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙢𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙧 🎥🎞🎬 (@CraigKoban) reported

@Shawhelp Incidentally, your service page indicates that the issues with incoming calls dropping to CS has been resolved. As of 10:30 tonight it clearly hasn’t.

How to lose a customer in minutes courtesy of @Shawhelp Was about to switch cells over tomorrow to. #notknow @TELUS here we come.

  • alexandrecabr Alexandre Alencar (@alexandrecabr) reported

🖐Who else hates @ShawInfo / @FreedomMobile bogus WiFi network that just doesn’t work most of the time?

  • skatewithpuck Oddmanrush (@skatewithpuck) reported

@Shawhelp What is wrong with Shaw broadband. I've just recovered from a major failure of internet access for a few days. Now it was broken again today. Are you adjusting yr BGP routing for saving Rogers that messed up the other day?
