@austynpaul_ @TELUS I was going to switch to Telus from Shaw for their 4K sports, but after a friend’s been waiting 3 months for their “Free 4K TV”, I changed my mind. At least with Shaw I can send a DM and they help me online pretty quickly. All the call centres are a joke now.

I have some good news and some not so good news. The good news is, I'm eligible for TELUS' plan for seniors. The bad news is, I'm still with TELUS.

@TELUS has a great scam. Move to another province and they nail you a penalty of 10 bucks for each month left on your term. They must be hard up for $140 bucks. Customer service clerk was pretty rude when I asked for the penalty to be waived!! Classless move.

@PatBlackstaffe @TELUS Tek savvy does use voip for its landline service. $22 a month for unlimited north America calling. You can also pay less. $10 for just local calls. I'd definitely pay the bit extra to not have to worry about long distance calls.

@FP_Champagne All fine and dandy but we really only have two mobile networks in Canada - Rogers and Telus/Bell... I doubt either can handle a full load when one goes down.

@ChadOhman @TELUS I spent hours and hours going through their “help” line trying to get their optik tv to work. It was painful. They really have no idea. Techs to my house, different browsers, wiping caches, everything. It’s brutal. I wish you luck.

We cut our ties to Rogers in 2008 when they still had video stores where you could pay your bills at the counter. Never went back and never would. Telus has never had any problems and always have great customer service every day They also have the best cell towers/optik in Canada

I was talking to a Telus mobility user today, and she said that her mobile data slowed down to almost unusable speeds during the Rogers outage. And it only went back to normal again yesterday.

@TELUS why is it that camping on 5G I get 0.1 Mbps download while a Fido customer on LTE gets 150 Mbps? Sure your network didn't go down like Rogers/Fido, but I can't use it on the regular while I am at the lake.

@TELUS 1.5 hour wait time just to get through to customer service ,2 hours total phone time. 3 different agents cause the 2nd one shuffled me along after pretending to do his job. Maybe 10 mins worth of actual agent time @CRTCeng Communication service my ***.

Most of Canada has two main wireline network options - the traditional telco (Bell, Telus, SaskTel) and the cableco (Rogers, Shaw, Videotron). Building a third wireline network to compete with that across the country doesn't make financial sense.

@robnicholsontor Classification is an oligopoly at a high level, but the pressures are monopolistic when they can fail and take out the whole banking system. Bell and Telus were fine, but just a Rogers failure was able to grind the country to a halt.
