Latest outage, problems and issue reports in Spring Lake and nearby locations:

  • LauraBellaT LauraBella Custom Cakery (@LauraBellaT) reported from Stony Plain, Alberta

@TELUS get your crap together - @StonyPlainAB residents can’t work efficiently from home with not being able send/receive emails! #wifisucks #usingupmydata

  • spencerbennett1 Spencer Bennett (@spencerbennett1) reported from Parkland County, Alberta

I called @TELUSsupport to make a change on my account. The recording encouraged me to use the Telus App or website to make the changes, and warned that I could be charged a fee to talk to a real person. Is it standard practice to charge customers to talk to customer service?

@KristinEff 100%. I got a (shady) email promo from TELUS yesterday, and I was just like, "Slow your roll"

  • sandmanxo SNDMN (@sandmanxo) reported

Damn @TELUS rly did not hesitate

  • WereleyG Wallace G Wereley (@WereleyG) reported

@brittlestar I sincerely hope that merger never happens. Rogers, Bell and Telus have too much power already.

  • andygomez767 Andy Gómez (@andygomez767) reported

@LadyAvis20 @cpllottawa @AlixG_2 A lot of terminals and POS systems use rogers. If the terminal at a place used Telus or Bell for it’s connection you could use Visa/Mastercard/Amex etc but not interac. Also some banks credit cards were not functioning so depends on the bank as well and their network

  • aleaila 6’3 (@aleaila) reported

rogers has always been terrible… they all are actually but telus is prolly the best outta them so y’all should switch rn. or koodoo? but i think they’re under the big 3 maybe

  • fncwill Will (@fncwill) reported

@Skycaptin5 Because it’s coax / docsis 3.0 still :( It will take Till Shaw gets actual fibre to more places before they become closer to telus’s 1GB up and down

  • Rue_Principal Ed (@Rue_Principal) reported

@chieffatguy @JeffreyLuscombe @gmbutts Also Telus . . . but yes, a problem is / will be that the infrastructure is super expensive. That said, there should be a way/door to "slide" network traffic from one to another so as to provide complete coverage. This is an expensive and sticky situation.

  • lesmis456 Lauren bIm Allen (@lesmis456) reported

@Minmilyjung I’m with Telus and had no problems

  • ChicDelights8 Pamela RG (@ChicDelights8) reported

@Mikeggibbs @74Mightymouse Breaking up Rogers or increasing more competition will not solve this because it seems all telecom are using the same network infrastructure ie no 911, no Interac for everyone including Bell/Telus. They’re all dependent on digital. They have to change the network infrastructure.
