@winemaker1960 @Susann_G As long as that line of reasoning isn't used to dodge taxes by the corporations who got CERB wage subsidies and other help, then laid off workers anyway, while increasing dividends to shareholders. I'm talking to you, @Bell

@theMattHastings @Bell I wouldn’t say criticizing a Corp who took $122M in payroll subsidy, who paid their CEO $10M, and has $60bn in assets, is offside, after firing hundreds of people during a pandemic. BellLetsTalk is a marketing campaign that allows a bad company to do some good.

Riddle me this: @Bell’s parent company Bell Canada Enterprises reported 4th quarter profits of $889M, up from $672M last year and they took gov’t $$ too from the Covid subsidy program. YET they needed to cut jobs for the “stability and growth of the business” as per their CEO?

@mattgurney @Bell Turn CBC into an independent and unbiased news source who works for the people who subsidize them not the government/party that approves/increases or decreases their funding and I might tune in. They’re not as bad as U.S. media networks but their still bad 😖

I've never been a fan of TSN1040, but it's awful to see people lose their jobs at this time and in the manner they did. Inflating short term profits simply to maximize shareholder value is a great way to destroy a company in the long run. #NeverBell @Bell #Canucks
