Turning off Wi-Fi turns the feature off because it's something that has to be supported by the cellular network. I don't know what OS he was running. Both didn't any issue with 5G connectivity. Also Telus investigated confirmed that I have 5G and i shouldn't have this 5G connectivity issues. The adviced me to replace the phone.

When I call Mint Mobile in the US, I go through a very friendly Ryan Reynolds AI attendant and talk to an American right away. Plus, they understand and resolve my problem. Canadians have no clue how bad it has become for them.
