After 22 years of bad Internet due to poor infrastructure, I’m stoked that my parents will finally be able to tell @Bell to **** right off. We just confirmed @StarlinkPage for their home in rural Val Caron.

Just switched to @Bell. Friday was awful with @Rogers and my LTE access still doesn't work...

I stupidly didn’t know that the landline we pay @Rogers for each month was VoIP and @Bell just told me they only offer VoIP too. I can’t get an old fashioned landline that won’t cut out with a power/system outage which is wild to me since we had one when we moved in.

Based on recent personal interactions with @TELUSsupport and @Bell_Support and the @Rogers “incident” I feel like the only thing necessary for a startup teleco to succeed in Canada is funding and to not be grossly incompetent - they could be OK even with average incompetence!

@Bell Sometimes new technology is not the best for reliability. My parents switched for fiber internet and home phone, but now when power goes off, their home phone is also down. With copper, this didn't happen.

@rfrancey @WGG_Carmelo @Bell That's true, but they had an old non cordless back up set they bought during the past major blackout. Anyways, my point is they can spend all this money to improve reliability, but new technology sometimes also have backdraws.
