@PeterVogel @Shawhelp In 2000 I was paying about $25 a month for unlimited 3G data in Japan. And $10 a month for a fibre connection to my apartment that hit about 60 MBPs. When I travel in Europe I usually get a month of unlimited data and talk for about $30. The problem here is competition.

@CanadianAngel77 @Shawhelp Well, I guess they have you by the ***** when you are under contact, huh? They refused to let my daughter out of her contract but she can't get service where she lives now. So they are essentially taking her money for nothing. That's bullshit.

@PeterVogel @Shawhelp I’m considering dropping ShawTV because of their rates (keep rising) and service (poor signal lack of selection).

@PeterVogel @Shawhelp I pay basically the same as you. The rate you are paying is the long time customer rate. I wish other companies were as good as Shaw and kept jobs in Canada. If new customers won’t sign up at that rate there are other places they can turn. CDN rates too high across the board.

Just to be clear, Shaw Communications has effectively raised Internet and TV rates by around 50% since this time a year ago. I presently pay $121 (taxes in) for 600 Mbps service plus BlueCurve Total TV. That same service today costs $185, an increase of 53%! @shawhelp #Vancouver
