-
Francis Taquin (@FrancisTaquin1) reported" Videotron warns: “When 3G is shut down, you will no longer be able to call 911 if you use a mobile phone or a SIM card that is not VoLTE compatible. This is already the case when you are travelling in the United States.” How to check your phone Freedom Mobile recommends dialing #TEST (#8378). If the call goes through, your phone is VoLTE-ready. If it doesn’t, you’ll need a newer phone and SIM card to stay connected. "

Commissioner Miner (@fanCRTCProfling) reportedW/ wholesale we have CNOC members Distributel, Vmedia, Start, Ebox etc All owned by Bell, Rogers Videotron & Telus. What are they going to do here lock people into mobile-Internet bundles? Bundles to save 10$ off cruddy #CRTC service costs in 2yr contracts? A god send? Dunno..
-
PeteyPoPetey (A user) 🇨🇦 #ReleaseTheNames (@peteypopetey) reportedFreedom wasn't great for cell phones (lots of complaints online) but since Videotron bought them I expect things to be much better. We switched on phone to Freedom and so far, other than a bumpy setup(*), it's been great. *They put the wrong # in one of the account fields so RCS wouldn't work, couldn't explain how and couldn't fix it until we went two service tiers up. Also twice claimed they sent emails which somehow never arrived.
-
Commissioner Miner (@fanCRTCProfling) reportedThere are still no #CRTC outage reports from the ice storm that knocked comm's out for: -Videotron -Rogers -Freedom (which also negated French service during the outage) -Flanker brands -Resellers/wholesalers (Storm Internet aside)
-
Ann 🇨🇦 (@Annwatson29) reported@Lucky_NUM13 @Videotron Same here. For SN, TSN not working.
-
Matt Ess (@cdnpoliticojnky) reported@JaredDapena Not sure if they’re out east, but I switched to videotron years ago. With their bring your own device rate it’s much cheaper and way better service than all the big 3
-
Indonesian Philosopher (@nusantaran_chud) reportedHoly **** i just ruined a government videotron setting during a ******* important moment and i can't fix it 😭
-
Ann 🇨🇦 (@Annwatson29) reported@Lucky_NUM13 @Videotron It would be nice to be kept informed instead of letting customers waste time thinking the problem was at our end like the message on TV implies.
-
Levi Gratton (@LeviGratton) reported@Videotron any updates on the 200 person outage near jean talon and pie 1 Ix?
-
Francis Taquin (@FrancisTaquin1) reported" With Rogers shutting its 3G network on July 31 too, it’s likely that Freedom Mobile and Videotron’s 3G shutdown is related, since its wireless customers also roam on Rogers. “Starting July 31, 2025, one of our Canadian partners will begin shutting down their 3G network, beginning with the province of Quebec, as well as Ottawa, and it’s surrounding areas,” says Freedom Mobile. Recently, Rogers and Fido have already started cutting off working phones that were using its 3G networks, in what was deemed accidental. Rogers is also charging a $75 network fee if users continue to use 3G networks. "
